Dial-out prefixes and test numbers

Dial-out prefixes

Most switches do not automatically allow you to dial out. In order to dial out you thus have to dial a prefix. Conversely, if the PBX does allow you to dial out automatically, you will have to use a prefix when dialing internal numbers.

Test numbers

Enter here an external number which can be called for a test – ideally your mobile telephone number. At the end of the installation, four or more other telephone number will be listed which can be used in the test; call the external telephone from one of the telephone numbers listed, and then call exactly this internal telephone back from the external telephone. TAPIMaster® can then determine automatically whether the outside line prefix has to be filtered out for incoming or outgoing calls.
